I am super excited about today’s Everyday Chic Dress sew-along video because it features a sewing pattern I love very much. I have sewn 3 Everyday Chic Dresses so far (blogged here and here) with plans for many more!

The Everyday Chic Dress is such a fun quick easy sewing project. I love the raglan sleeve and deep pockets. It features shirring to add shaping which you can omit to create a loose fit style. The design is for a pullover dress so there are no zips or buttons which is why it is so quick to sew up.

For this sew-along tutorial, I used one of my favourite all-time fabrics – Art Gallery Fabric Denim Chambray Painterly Wash. This fabric has a such a beautiful print and vibrant colour palette whilst having a crisp lightness perfect for this style.

This sew-along video above gives you detailed steps to sew the Everyday Chic Dress as I sew it and includes tips on how to use shirring elastic. You can buy the pattern here (available as PDF or paper). I use a mix of industrial sewing techniques and my own logic which makes for a fun sewing experience. I suggest watching the tutorial through to the end before starting as I do things differently and some things may not seem to make sense until they do.

I hope that you enjoy my video and feel inspired to make some Everyday Chic dresses too. If you arent already, I would be so honoured if you subscribed to my Youtube Channel. I post a new video every week with loads of sewing fun.
