Burda 07/2016 # 115

Pattern Sizing: EUR 36 – 44. I sewed size 38.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? – Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? – Not quite. This is a 3 dot pattern which means, by Burdastyle standards its one away from their advanced styles. The main style line is very simple to sew up. However, the plastron is what makes this a 3 dot instead of one dot pattern. I used my own deductions to sewing the plastron up which you can watch on the video.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? – I loved the challenge of sewing the basket weave plastron. It is such a unique detail that makes this a one of a kind garment.

Fabric Used: Robert Kauffmann Tencel Denim in Indigo. I have to say that I LOVED sewing with this fabric! It is a deep indigo blue and sewed up beautifully. It has a look similar to chambray in that the reverse of the fabric has light grey look. I used the reverse of the fabric to create contrasting panels on the basket weave.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I only added inseam pockets using an old shirt.

Would you sew it again? It such a unique garment that I feel like I only need one of it in my wardrobe. I can style it differently by using different belts.

Would you recommend it to others? – Yes! absolutely, this is one of a kind garment with the feature on the basket weave.

Conclusion – A great addition to my closet that I especially love to style with a slim tan belt and tan boots for a casual look.
