It always amazes me how rapidly 4 weeks go by and my Minervacrafts Blogger Network project is due. I appreciate the monthly routine of creating my dressmaking projects and I find it a useful metric for keeping up with my sewing when life seems to get in the way.

Fabric love – Art Gallery Ice Cream Jersey Knit Fabric

I recently became a Joy Correspondent for The Clothes Making Maven Podcast. In my debut, I talked about the research by Ingrid Fetell Lee on Joy and Where to Find It – one of the things she found in her research was that pictures of ice cream with sprinkles create feelings of joy. So its no wonder that I felt intense joy when I saw this fabric. Its a Dana Willard design from the Art District Fusion collection. I actually saw the cotton poplin with navy background first but then I found out they had it in a jersey too!

Burda 6/2016 #101

I have sewn Burda 6/2016 #101 before as a bird print maxi dress and a winter wool jersey two toned dress. The winter one gets a lot more wear given the tendency for colder weather in the UK :-).

Meanwhile here is the link that will take you to the post on the Minerva Craft Blogger Network. Enjoy!

Here is a sneak peek from the review that answers the question “Did the finished garment look like the pictures when you finished?”.
