Lori, the blogger and podcaster behind frivolousatlast.com and Clothes Making Mavens (with Helena Ashbridge of grayallday.com) is launching a wonderful challenge for 2020 called #SLOWFASHION2020.

Head on over to Lori’s post on the challenge for great ideas on how to make the challenge our own. I love how she is encouraging you to make goals that are personal to you and flexible.

I thought about how I could join in (Lori has created a private Facebook group you can join – all details on the post).

My most recent Saturday Night Stitch Podcast episode was about this very same issue of buying clothes.

I generally don’t buy RTW (in fact I haven’t bought anything new for over a decade). So I am thinking about how I can work within fabric buying as that is my Achilles heel. I still haven’t decided exactly how I am going to pledge but it is in my thinking loops.

I know the value of setting realistic goals – many times I have jumped into making grand statements of intent that were more optimistic than realistic. Remember that time when I decided that I wasn’t allowed to buy any more fabric in 2016 but ended up spending more than previous years when I didnt have a restriction on myself?

That’s what is so great about this #slowfashion2020 challenge – it gets you thinking. So do head on over to Lori and get more specific deets and links to the Facebook group etc. I’ll be back soon with my own pledge.
